31 October 2026 · 🎬 AusCinema Update — v8.8 Out Now

A new AusCinema update is rolling out now. It fixes Live TV crashing on some channels, makes movies and shows load more reliably, and gives you a cleaner, faster launch. 🚀

✅ What’s new

  • Live TV no longer crashes on certain channels
  • Movies & shows load more reliably
  • Faster, cleaner startup — no more loading screen
  • No more update pop-ups

📲 How to update (automatic)

  1. Open the AUSTREAMS Hub app on your device.
  2. It updates AusCinema for you — if you see an Update button, just tap it.
  3. Give it a few seconds to finish, then open AusCinema.

🔑 One quick step after updating

This update does a clean reinstall, so the first time you open AusCinema you’ll be asked to:

  • Sign in — use your usual username and password (same login as your service).
  • Pick your profile again.

That’s a one-time thing. You don’t need to uninstall anything yourself — the Hub handles it all. Enjoy! 🍿

30 October 2026 · HD series & favourites fix

Hey everyone! The team has fixed an issue that stopped HD versions of some TV series being added when a 4K version was already available. HD series should now start appearing.

Please refresh / update your playlist in AUSMATE to pick up the changes.

Saved series not playing? Some series IDs have changed, so an old favourite may no longer work. Remove the affected series from your favourites, search for it again in TV Series, then add the working listing back to your favourites.

Thanks for your patience! — Nolmads TV

HD series missing or a saved favourite won’t play?

An issue that prevented HD series being added when a 4K version already existed was reported fixed on 30 October 2026. HD series should start appearing as the library updates.

  1. Refresh / update your playlist in AUSMATE to load the latest listings. See the playlist refresh guide below.
  2. If a saved series still won’t play, remove that series from your favourites.
  3. Search for the series again in TV Series and open the current listing.
  4. Add the working listing back to your favourites.

Some series IDs have changed, so old favourites can point to a listing that no longer works.

How it works

  1. Open the Requests page on your phone, tablet or computer and sign in using the details above. In the updated TV Help app, scan the QR code at the top of this answer. On an older app, select Support / QR → Help on your phone, then open this guide and tap the Requests link.
  2. Search for a movie or TV show.
  3. Check whether it is already on FREE TV or AUSTREAMS, and which category it is in.
  4. If it is missing, select Request.

If it can be sourced straight away, it may be added to FREE TV within a few minutes. Otherwise, it will be requested from the supplier. You can follow its progress on the Requests page.

Once the status shows Added, refresh / update your playlists in AUSMATE to see it. The playlist refresh guide is also near the top of this Help app.

  4. You’ll see a blue circle rotating while the playlists are loading. Wait for the update to finish.

Buffering or freezing? Start here

Buffering can come from your device, internet connection, VPN or the streaming service. Several people reporting the same feed can point to a service issue, but no other reports does not prove the problem is at your end. Check Latest updates & announcements and Telegram first.

Try these steps in order

  1. Check your connection allowance. Stop playback on other devices using your login, then test again. See the connection-limit guide below.
  2. Try another channel or video. Note whether one feed or everything is affected.
  3. Restart your modem/router. When it is safe to disconnect everyone, unplug its power for 30–60 seconds, reconnect it and wait until the internet is fully back online before trying again. If you have a separate modem and router, bring the modem back online first, then restart the router. Restarting clears temporary memory and may clear some cached information, depending on the model; it does not clear your TV app caches or guarantee a buffering fix. Do not press the Reset button or choose Factory reset—that can erase your network settings.
  4. Restart your Fire Stick. Open Settings → My Fire TV → Restart, or Device & Software → Restart.
  5. If you use Club VPN or your own VPN, reconnect it after restarting and try a nearby Australian server. A poor VPN connection can also slow playback. Compare with another server or briefly disconnect to test; a VPN is not a guaranteed buffering fix.
  6. Clear the affected app’s cache. Use Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → select AUSMATE or the affected app → Force Stop → Clear Cache, then reopen it. Do not select Clear Data.

Still buffering? Try one change at a time

  • Another player: test another app/player you already have set up. Stop the first stream before starting another.
  • Another network: connect the Fire Stick to your phone’s 4G/5G hotspot and test the same feed. Check your mobile data allowance first. A different result helps narrow down a network or routing issue; it does not by itself prove an ISP block.

If it continues, send support the app, channel/video name, time it happened, whether other feeds work, and the tests you tried. Keep your login private.

Can sharing my login cause buffering or disconnections?

Your plan’s connection allowance is the number of streams you can watch at the same time. A one-connection plan allows one active stream. If you purchased multiple connections, use the allowance confirmed with your plan.

If two devices try to play using a one-connection login, they can interrupt or disconnect each other. Repeated reconnecting can look like buffering.

  1. Stop playback on every other device using that login, including phones, other TVs and devices used by family or friends.
  2. Close other player apps that may still be streaming.
  3. Test one stream on one device.

Do not share your login outside your agreed plan. If you need more simultaneous streams or are unsure of your allowance, contact Nolmads TV before adding another device.

How do I connect to Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot?

Open Settings → Network on your Fire TV. Choose your Wi-Fi name and enter its password. You can also hold the remote’s Home button to open the Fire TV quick menu and reach Settings.

For a hotspot, turn it on in your phone’s settings first, then select it on the Fire Stick. Keep your phone nearby and check your mobile data allowance.

Connected but no internet? Check the same connection on another device. In Fire TV Network settings, highlight your network and press Play/Pause to see connection information.

How do I restart the Fire Stick?

Open Settings → My Fire TV → Restart. Some devices call this menu Device & Software.

If it is completely frozen, disconnect the Fire Stick’s power, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect it. Let it finish starting before opening your app.

Choose Restart, not Reset to Factory Defaults. A factory reset removes your setup.

An app will not open, or is stuck loading

Restart the Fire Stick first. If only one app is still affected, open Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications, select that app, then choose Force Stop and Clear Cache. Open it again.

Use Clear Cache. Clearing app data can remove saved logins and settings. Ask support before clearing data or reinstalling an app.

How do I get back to the Nolmads TV home screen?

Press the remote’s Home button once to return to your Nolmads TV home screen.

If you used Options → Open Amazon home, open any app, then press Home again. That should resume the Nolmads TV home screen.

If it still goes to Amazon’s home screen, restart the stick and try again. Contact support if the problem remains.

Where do I find my username and password?

Option 1 — Austreams Hub

  1. Open Austreams Hub.
  2. Select Show My Login.
  3. Select Show Password to reveal your password. Your username is shown in the same window.
  4. When finished, select Hide Password, then Done.

Option 2 — AUSMATE, if you do not have Austreams Hub

  1. Open the AUSMATE app.
  2. Go to Settings → Playlists.
  3. Select the top playlist named Austreams.
  4. Select Xtream Codes parameters.
  5. Your username and password are shown at the top.

These are your Austreams service details, which are separate from your Amazon account login. Keep them private and do not post passwords or screenshots showing them in the Telegram group.

My login is not working, or says expired

Check that you are using the details supplied for that particular app or service. Enter them carefully, including capitals, and check for extra spaces.

If the details still fail or the account shows expired, contact Nolmads TV to check the account or renewal. Reinstalling the app will not renew a subscription.

Never post passwords, payment details or full login screenshots in the group.

There is no sound, or the screen is black

Check the TV volume, mute button and selected HDMI input. If you use a soundbar, check its input too.

Try another video and another app to see whether the issue is limited to one programme. If everything is affected, restart the Fire Stick and check that its HDMI and power connections are secure.

Tell support whether you can still see the home screen and whether other apps have picture and sound.

How do I check app updates and clear space?

Open Austreams Hub from your Nolmads TV home screen. Check for app updates and follow the prompts for any updates you need.

Select Free Up Space / Clear Space for the Hub’s tidy-up option, depending on the wording shown.

You can also clear app caches through Fire TV Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Clear all Application Caches, if available, then confirm. Otherwise select individual apps and choose Clear Cache.

See How do I clear cache and keep my Fire Stick running smoothly? for the full guide. Avoid Clear Data unless support specifically asks you to use it.

How do I clear cache and keep my Fire Stick running smoothly?

Apps store temporary files called cache. These can help apps load faster, but clearing cache can help with some app faults or low-storage messages. It does not guarantee buffer-free streaming.

Option 1 — Austreams Hub

Open Austreams Hub and select Free Up Space / Clear Space, depending on the wording shown on your version.

Option 2 — Fire TV settings

  1. Open Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications.
  2. If available, select Clear all Application Caches, then confirm.
  3. If that option is missing, select an app and choose Clear Cache. Repeat for other apps as needed.

If one app is stuck

In Manage Installed Applications, select that app, choose Force Stop, then Clear Cache. Open it again. Only force stop the app you are troubleshooting; leave your VPN, home-screen app and system services running.

If you already use DefSquid

Its Manage / Manage Apps area may provide a shortcut to an app’s settings. Select the affected app, then use the Fire TV Force Stop and Clear Cache controls when shown. Menus vary by version. You do not need DefSquid to use the built-in steps above.

Regular care

As part of your monthly check, open Austreams Hub for app updates and check available storage. Restart the Fire Stick if it becomes sluggish or unresponsive. Routine boosting or force-stopping every app after watching is not required.

Clear Cache, not Clear Data. Clear Data can remove saved logins and settings. Do not factory-reset the stick for a routine tidy-up.

Why use a VPN, and can it help with streaming?

A VPN (virtual private network) encrypts the connection between your Fire Stick and the VPN server. It helps keep activity carried through that connection private from your internet provider and the local Wi-Fi network. Services you connect to see the VPN server’s public IP address instead of your usual one.

This can be useful on shared Wi-Fi when travelling. You still need to trust the VPN provider; a VPN does not make you anonymous or stop every online threat.

Will it fix buffering? Sometimes it may help if your provider is slowing a particular type of traffic. It is not a guaranteed fix: a VPN can also slow things down, and it will not repair weak Wi-Fi, a service outage or an expired account.

How to try it: open your VPN app, sign in and choose a nearby Australian server. Check it says Connected before opening your streaming app. If playback gets worse, try another nearby server or disconnect briefly to compare. Some streaming services restrict VPN use.

A VPN is optional and may need its own subscription. It does not replace your streaming login or change your connection allowance.
